Why We Partnered with Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties
Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties (CF) is a publicly supported charitable nonprofit, that specializes in building local philanthropy. CF is structured primarily as a collection of named component funds that carry out the diverse charitable purposes specified by the CF governing body and its donors to benefit Loudoun and Fauquier counties. Central to the CF mission is the growth of local community endowment as a highly effective means to meet the needs of the community now—and for generations to come. CF is compliant with the rigorous National Standards of Operations for U.S. Community Foundations and is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) and passes the public support test under sections 509(a)(1) and 170(b)(1)(A)(vi).
100WomenStrong chose to partner as a CF component fund and gain the advantage of getting off the ground quickly to fulfill our charitable vision. By pooling tax-exempt gifts in a distinct fund that we designed for our charitable work, we efficiently and effectively leverage our impact for grant-making and fund growth. We professionally move grant money into the community with CF review and approval as the tax-exempt organization performing due diligence and ensuring compliance with IRS rules and state filings.
Under CF guidelines, we are able to pursue our own grant-making vision, actively participate in the grant process, and choose our focus areas and charitable interests.
All gifts to the Community Foundation and its component funds, including 100WomenStrong, are tax deductible at the highest exemption allowed by law.
